Do You Trust Him?

Who do you trust?
When something goes wrong, who is the first person you call ?
When you have some great news that you can only share with a select few who do you reach out to?
For a long time, I’ve built a wall around myself and only allowed myself to trust a small few. I was constantly being disappointed and let down. I built a tolerance to lies and the lack of consistency that followed. As a way to cope with this I would try to limit my thoughts about that particular subject or busy myself with something else. I will cap off everything that happens and hold it internally and allow worry and fear to fester and grow these thoughts into humongous beasts. And soon those beasts become too much and I burst, allowing myself to lash out on someone or something. Projecting my anger, fear, confusion or worry onto it. This is a pattern I was not aware of until now. Being in quarantine and having to acknowledge the not so great aspects about myself and choose to either fix it or carry it. I believe we all found out something about ourselves by now. Because in this time we really have so much time to self reflect. To acknowledge how broken we are, how this is the season for God to stop everything else you do in hopes you would turn to him. I know in this time God has really opened my eyes to reveal the not so great aspects that I was holding on to in sake of comfort. Because I could not forgive myself for what I may have done or allowed. I blocked those things off so long ago that when I feel God trying to heal me from it I recoil and turn away from it. As if saying “That’s okay God I can carry this pain, this regret a little longer”. Not realizing what I was actually saying. That I was denying God the chance to show himself. To not only me but those around me. With me carrying the hurt of the past, how could God equip me for the blessings of the future? I kept hearing God say trust him all week. And I’ve been so confused, like God I do trust you. I did so many things for your name sake how can I not trust you. (Psalms 28:7 NIV) 7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. And I just realized if I really trusted him, I would allow him to open the wounds of the past so I can properly heal. I would allow this time of reflection to be a time where I go into the ICU spiritually. There are so many of us that are hurt, broken, wounded and yet we carry on like nothing is wrong. We allow these things to become baggage and weigh us down. Well now is the time. We must trust God fully. Not just trust him for blessings and those leaps of faith we do when people are looking but trust him fully. God knows everything and the reason it took place. Trust him with the pain and know he will comfort you. Trust him to take it and give you something greater in return. (Mark 11:24) 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
We must trust him because this next season is launching us to a place we’ve never seen before. I believe 2020 is still going to be great. That in this time God is preparing, restoring and equipping us with the needed tools in order to do his will in these next months. God does all things well, even when it doesn’t look like it or even feel like it. Trusting in God and not our fears allows us to see past what man dictates is going to happen and what we should feel. This virus has done some damage in the physical sense, but in the spiritual so much growth and new change has gone forth. We can see souls being saved, the broken receiving healing, and his blood covering those around us. God is working right before our eyes, we just have to look past the chaos. We have to look at these dead bones and speak life. We have so much power and yet we don’t use it. The same power that resurrected Jesus from the grave rest in us and yet we allow fear to dictate our next move. We must take spiritual authority in this season and be prepared for the God in us to show himself in this season.
(Luke 10:19) 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. This week's blog post is somewhat scattered, I’m sorry about that I’m just writing what God gives me. But I pray that in reading this your trust in God increases. That the worries you have about this pandemic and even your personal life begin to fade. That you allow God to meet you where you are and heal you, move you, speak to you fully with no interruptions. This season is one that is most difficult but our God is great, our God is mighty and he will get the glory after this. I have one request after tonight's blog post, that you would spend 5-10 minutes in prayer. Prayer is critical in this hour, and I would hate for anyone to read tonight's blog post and receive partial healing from my words and not thorough healing. Our God answers a brokenhearted cry, he’s there when you need him and will love you better than anyone else can. I pray you all stay encouraged and will seek God instead of the fear driving statistics. Thank you for choosing to read The Art Of Advice.
